Lip Fillers

To enhance lip shape and enlarge size for the perfect pout

Lip enhancement is one of the most popular non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments and has particularly taken off in the last 10 years. When natural lip fillers are performed in a safe and natural way, they can help make the face look more youthful and restore shape to give a patient a more balanced and symmetrical look.

What are lip fillers?

Lip fillers are injections that add volume to your lips, they can also be used to enhance and alter the shape. Dr Hennessy can add volume to both upper and lower lips which gives a younger appearance, but in some cases, it might only be one lip that needs the filler to achieve this. In some cases, a patient may want their lip shape changed and corrected. We have lots of up to date examples of our work on our Instagram page: @drhennessycosmetic

What happens when you have face and lip fillers?

Here at Dr Hennessey, we understand that your main concern is what to expect, how it will turn out and of course that the treatment is being completed by a qualified and experienced practitioner. You can book your procedure with peace of mind because All of our non-surgical procedures are carried out personally by cosmetic facial rejuvenation expert Dr Stephen Hennessy BDS.

Consultations are available to discuss your needs and what you want to achieve. Often, an anaesthetic cream is applied to numb the skin and lip area, although it may be slightly uncomfortable the treatment should not be painful. The length of time the treatment takes is dependent on the type of treatment, for lip fillers you can usually expect the process to take around 30 minutes.

What to do after Lip Fillers

The affected area may be a bit red, sore and swollen. Any swelling or bruising should settle down in a few days. During the consultation and again during the treatment, you will be given instructions on how to minimise the chance of side effects. This includes refraining from applying make-up right after the treatment.

What are the Risks of Lip fillers?

The risks of dermal fillers depend on whether the procedure was done correctly and the type of filler used. Speak to your practitioner about the risks. Dr Hennessy will only use the safest and most effective filler, and has over 20 years experience so that overfilled and lumpy lips just don’t happen. Serious problems and allergic reactions are rare and during our 20 years we have not yet seen any occur.

If this is your first visit to Dr Hennessy clinics, one of his nurses will call you two weeks after treatment. However, as discussed during the appointment, if you ever experience anything you are concerned about, we give you a number to call immediately.
