What is Baby Botox?

Posted on

Baby Botox, also commonly known as soft Botox, involves the application of smaller units of Botox into the face when compared to the traditional application of Botox. Both treatments use the same formula of botulinum toxin that has the same strength, the only difference between the two is the amount used.

There are two main benefits when discussing the use of this treatment First, you have the fact that the presence of Botox will be less noticeable. People may prefer that they will be left with a more natural look and have more movement in their face. It is for this reason that this treatment is becoming more common for younger patients as a preventative measure for the visible signs of ageing.

Second, it can be used to treat more precise areas of the face than traditional Botox can. This also means that it can be used to address more complex problem areas.

You may have also heard of another term and are wondering ‘what is micro-Botox?’. Micro-Botox is just another term for Baby Botox, referring to the fact that less units are used. People may prefer using these other terms to avoid giving the impression that this treatment is for babies, which it very much is not.

What is the Difference Between Botox and Baby Botox?

The main difference between Baby Botox and traditional Botox is the fact that less units of botulinum toxin are being used.

This treatment is also known as being a 3 area Botox technique. By dividing the standard amount of Botox and applying it as micro-doses into three areas of the face, the patient is left with a natural looking smooth face that is still capable of muscle movement. These three areas being injected only apply if you are targeting the most common injection sites for Baby Botox, i.e., the glabellar frown lines.

There are many ways that you can use this type of Botox treatment that would not be suitable for traditional Botox. For example, on the lower face, it can effectively treat wrinkles and soft lines around the mouth and chin, as well as bunny lines located on either side of the nose.

Finally, there are a number of specialist procedures where micro doses of Botox can be used to treat uncommon issues. For example, people with pressure in their jaw who frequently grind their teeth can use Baby Botox to alleviate the tight muscles in the neck.

Baby Botox Before and After

After receiving Baby Botox, patients should be left with a natural looking smooth face that can still move and be manipulated without the frozen expression that often comes with traditional Botox.

This type of Botox treatment should only be used on soft, fine lines as opposed to deep frown lines that come with age. Traditional Botox should be used in these cases otherwise the wrinkles will remain visible after treatment.

Before receiving any cosmetic procedure, patients should ask to see a portfolio from their cosmetic nurse. This is especially important with this treatment because it is a much more precise procedure, meaning that you want to be sure that your practitioner has the required skills to perform such techniques.

For Botox practitioners who offer Baby Botox treatments, having a portfolio to showcase your results can help you bring in more clients for less common and more specialist treatments.

Pros of Baby Botox

Offering this treatment as a service can be an effective way to offer Botox treatments to clients in who may be apprehensive of getting Botox for the first time.

People may also be more inclined to go for Baby Botox as opposed to traditional Botox injections because they want to avoid the frozen-looking effect that can sometimes occur when getting Botox.

Finally, Baby Botox can be used to treat more specialised issues.
