What is it used for?
Dermaroller is used for overall skin rejuvenation producing smoother, brighter and younger–looking skin but especially for:
- Acne Scars
- Aged Skin
- Sun Damage
- Facial Lines and Wrinkles
How does it work?
Dermaroller is a revolutionary device which gives nature a helping hand in stimulating the skins natural production of collagen and elastin to totally rejuvenate and improve its appearance in tone and texture. This is achieved by pin–point punctures which is perceived as damage by the skin and so kick starts the natural healing process to produce an abundance of new collagen.
The deeper layers of the skin are stimulated in this way, with no damage to the outer layers. Visible results can be seen after 1 week, but the skin remodelling process goes on for about 6 weeks.
How many sessions are required?
Normally 3 sessions, six weeks apart are recommended
Is it safe?
It is 100 % natural with no chemicals involved at all. It can be used on all skin types as there is no risk of hyper pigmentation as there is with lasers and chemical peels.
The principle behind Dermaroller is “medical microneedling” which has been around for many years as a way of stimulating the skins’ repair mechanisms.
Does it hurt?
An anaesthetic cream is applied to the area to be treated first of all so that during the procedure (around 20 min) only a little discomfort /prickling sensation is felt . All of our patients have found the results well worth any of the discomfort felt.
How long do the results last?
The skin will remain in good condition for 12 months and longer. A top up treatment of a one-off session is recommended annually or after 6 months depending on the skin/patient.
How much does it cost?
Each session is £250. Available from any of our clinics in the Southport, Liverpool, Preston and surrounding areas.
